Ireland Music Week 2021 Online
5 - 8 October, 2021

Ireland Music Week took place virtually this year, and I was involved in producing the week long conference and artist showcases with Catapult Events. This was the first event I have fully built out virtually! It was great to work with so many amazing speakers from various facets of the music industry in the US and Europe. Amazing panel discussions and world class showcases - supported by Culture Ireland, The Arts Council and CD Baby. Congrats to all at Ireland Music Week and First Music Contact!


September Sessions in Bundoran, Donegal
14 - 19 September, 2021

I had the pleasure of working with some amazing Irish artists and their teams at the September Sessions, presented by Sea Sessions Music and Surf Festival in the beautiful surroundings of Bundoran, Donegal. Headliners included LYRA, Gavin James, Bell X1, The Coronas, Roisin O, Moncrieff, Brad Heidi, Royseven, Michael Moloney, Thumper, NOAH, The Zen Arcade and Eimear Crehan. Supported by The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.


Strawberry Sessions at Luttrellstown Castle

I was delighted to be involved in bringing some live music back to an intimate audience at the beautiful Luttrellstown Castle in Dublin over the past week, as part of the boutique festival, Strawberry Sessions. The socially distant event followed the success of the TV broadcast of the same name on Virgin Media. It was great to work with top Irish headliners again, including Jerry Fish, Lisa Hannigan, The Riptide Movement, Wyvern Lingo, Jack L. and more.

Irish Screen America Festival in Los Angeles

What a gorgeous evening of Irish film with Irish Screen America in collaboration with Ireland Week 2019 in Los Angeles. Big congratulations to Carmel Winters and the team behind the powerful feature film Float Like a Butterfly . It’s great to see the incredible work being done on showcasing and promoting Irish film in Los Angeles.


Launching the I.NY 2019 festival programme at King John's Castle, Limerick

Today, we were delighted to announce and launch the third installment of the I.NY festival at King John's Castle (with help from the fabulous Aileen Galvin pictured). The festival will be running from October 16-20th in Limerick, as an anchor event within Fáilte Ireland’s #GlobalIrish Festival Series.

Headline guests include Malachy McCourt, Margaret Molloy, NYPD Commissioner James P. O’Neill, Martin Hayes, Dr Jane O’Meara-Sanders, HBO’S Qool DJ Marv, Kevin Barry, John Kelly, and many more. 


Visiting the new Contemporary Irish Arts Centre in Los Angeles

I was delighted to have been given a tour of the brand new Contemporary Irish Arts Centre space in Los Angeles this week. There's so much value in having a dedicated space for the Irish community and diaspora in LA, and my heart is full after attending the first CIACLA Sessions in which various Irish artists showcased their talents. A big thanks to Matt and the team for the warm welcome, and looking forward to seeing how the centre develops into the future!


I.NY Global Irish Festival Series 2019

I.NY is launching in New York this evening at the Consulate General of Ireland, NYC under the Global Irish Festival Series 2019, in partnership with Tourism Ireland. “It’s great to see the Global Irish Festival Series return this year. I was invited to Culture Ireland's Global Ireland 2025 Conference at Dublin Castle this week. The day was filled with a mixture of powerful discussion and performances, toward a brighter future for artists and arts managers in Ireland, touching on the promotion of Irish arts worldwide - and around the plan to double investment in the Irish arts and culture sector by 2025.

I stopped by the Ireland Week conference in Los Angeles in November, and met some familiar faces from the Irish music scene, as well as new Irish friends currently living in LA. What a pleasure to find out there's such a vibrant and successful Irish community in LA, across industries including music, media and events. Thanks to the organisers for having me and making me feel at home - literally!

World Café - Limerick Arts and Culture Strategy Consultation Event

I was invited by the Limerick Arts Office to facilitate at the World Café Consultation Event at the Savoy Hotel. The event was moderated by Neil Peterson, director and founder of consultancy group Inside Track. The aim of the event was for the LCCC cross party Culture and Arts Working Group to develop a model of delivery for Culture and Arts for Limerick. 


No Name National Supertalent Finals

Just wrapped up another great year of judging the amazing talent of teenagers across Ireland at the Lime Tree Theatre in Limerick. `The competition gives secondary school students the opportunity  to showcase their talents and creativity by competing in a series of entertainment items, including music, dance, theatre and film.

BA Performing Arts Students Final Performance 2018

My 3rd year BA Performing Arts students completed their beautiful final performance exam after a semester of hard work at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. I guided the students in creating original music, movement and instrumental pieces through improvisational tools, creative processes and group/individual artist mentoring. I also guided the students in programming one cohesive live performance story, centred on a common theme, weaving each piece together.

Songs for Jackson Pollock is now available to purchase at The album was devised, composed, performed and recorded by Óscar Mascareñas as a response to an exhibition of late works by American abstract artist Jackson Pollock. The album was mastered by Christoph Stickel from CSMastering, Munich, Germany in 2017, and subsequently cut, pressed and printed by Crystal Media Ltd., in Dublin, Ireland. The project can also be followed on Facebook, Twitter and Instgram @songsforjacksonpollock.
